Amtrak saw a surge in business in 2009, but still lagged behind the other major transport carriers overall. A mobile application not only helps to allow Amtrak’s passengers to obtain information on the go, but shows its tech-savvy and helps it compete in the travel market. Clear branding, updated copy, and easy to use features are seamlessly integrated into iPhone OS standards. Colors are derived from the current Amtrak logo, and application features mimic those found on the traditional homepage. The ulimate goal is to increase support for high-speed rail by improving the current passenger rail system.
