Lancaster Avenue in West Philadelphia has a dedicated trolley line but poorly marked and under-utilized stations. Here, the current structure and parking lot at the intersection of Lancaster and Powelton Avenues and 38th Street is replaced with a pedestrian plaza and fixed light rail station. Inspired by modern tram systems found in Rome and Amsterdam, this project serves as the pilot for what could later become a dedicated transit mall on Lancaster Avenue. Current and future site plans, concept art, site sections, and a future rendering were produced.
